Why Transformed Trees

One company. Three disciplines. No compromises.

Most tree companies don’t touch irrigation. Most irrigation companies don’t touch trees. And most landscape designers don’t think about either until there’s a problem. That’s how root damage happens, why irrigation systems underperform, and why plants fail in landscapes that looked great on paper.

Transformed Trees & Landscape LLC was built differently. Our founder Chris Bouchard is an ISA-certified arborist who also designs and installs irrigation systems and full landscapes — which means every project we take on is considered as a whole property, not a collection of disconnected tasks.

When we trim your trees, we know what your irrigation is doing. When we design your landscape, we protect existing root zones. When we install a new drip system, we account for tree growth five years from now. That integration is rare — and it shows in every yard we’ve touched since 2016.

Tree Service

Desert trees need a desert arborist

Trimming a tree in the Sonoran Desert is not the same as trimming a tree anywhere else. Our native species — Mesquite, Palo Verde, Desert Willow — have evolved to handle extreme heat and seasonal drought in very specific ways. Cut them at the wrong time, in the wrong place, and you open the door to disease, sunscald, and structural failure that can take years to undo.

Chris Bouchard earned his ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) certification before founding Transformed Trees & Landscape LLC in 2016. Every service we offer — from a routine trim to a complex removal — is grounded in that science. We assess, plan, and execute with your tree’s long-term health as the priority, and we tell you exactly why we’re doing it that way.

Trimming, Pruning & Care

Our ISA-certified arborist assesses each tree’s structure, health, and seasonal timing before making a single cut — following international pruning standards that promote long-term growth and structural integrity. From precision canopy shaping and deadwood removal to insect management and soil fertilization, this is complete tree health care for Tucson’s native species.

Removal & Stump Grinding

When removal is the safest and most responsible choice — from irreversible disease, storm damage, or proximity to your home — our team handles it with professional rigging and equipment that protects your property throughout the process. Every job finishes with complete stump grinding, leaving your yard clean and ready for what’s next.

Planting, Selection & Mulch

Planting a tree is a 30–50-year decision. We help you choose the right species for your soil, sun, water, and space — then plant it correctly so the root system establishes strong from day one. Ask about our free local mulch drop program for Tucson homeowners who want to protect their root zones naturally.
Irrigation Service

Most Tucson plants aren’t lost to heat — they’re lost to water

Too much water in the wrong place drowns roots. Too little at the wrong time stresses a tree during peak heat and makes it vulnerable to insects and disease. A properly designed irrigation system eliminates the guesswork — and in a desert city with tiered water rates and active conservation programmes, that precision pays for itself quickly.

Our systems are designed with Tucson’s specific water programme in mind: smart scheduling, drip delivery, and zone separation that keeps your landscape thriving without running the meter up. Every project starts with a full site assessment. We walk you through it completely before we leave so you understand exactly how your system works.

Installation & Custom Design

Every Tucson landscape is different — different soil, plants, micro-climates, and water pressure. Our installation process starts with a full site assessment and produces a custom zone map before a single line is laid. Whether a new system from scratch, a drip conversion from spray heads, or smart controller integration, we design it around your specific landscape.

Repair & Diagnostics

A failing irrigation system doesn’t announce itself until plants start dying or the water bill spikes. Cracked drip lines, broken emitters, monsoon-fried controllers, root-intruded valves — we diagnose and repair all of it. Most repairs are completed in a single visit. We tell you exactly what we found and what it costs before we touch anything.

Water Efficiency & Smart Watering

The average Tucson irrigation system runs on a schedule set years ago and never adjusted — watering the same amount in January as in July. A water efficiency audit identifies every inefficiency in your system. Most audits recover their cost within one billing cycle through reduced water usage.
Landscape

Landscapes designed to work with the desert, not against it

The Sonoran Desert is one of the most visually dramatic landscapes on Earth — yet most Tucson yards don’t reflect that. Patchy gravel, a struggling lawn, overgrown desert scrub, or a bare dirt expanse represent missed potential. The right native plants, well-placed rock, and thoughtful design can turn the same square footage into a space that’s genuinely beautiful — and genuinely easy to maintain.

Because we also care for trees and design irrigation systems, we approach every landscape project as a whole property. We plan around existing tree root zones to prevent damage during installation, incorporate irrigation into the design from the start, and select plants that will still look great in five years — not just on installation day.

Design & Consultation

Great landscape design starts with understanding how you want to use your outdoor space — then building a plan within the reality of Tucson’s climate. Our design process includes a full site walk, soil and drainage assessment, plant recommendation, and integrated irrigation planning. Collaborative, transparent, and built to last.

Decorative Rock & Xeriscape

The right combination of decomposed granite, river rock, and boulders — paired with native plants selected for color, texture, and seasonal interest — creates a landscape that looks intentional, needs almost no maintenance, and performs better every year. Our xeriscape designs are also eligible for Tucson Water conservation rebates.

Cleanup, Monsoon Recovery & Refresh

Every Tucson yard benefits from a seasonal reset — before monsoon season to prepare for storms, and after to restore what the rains displaced. We clear debris, re-edge beds, reposition displaced rock, and assess plant or structural damage. For significant monsoon damage, we provide a full restoration plan.
Tucson Water Rebate Eligible

Xeriscape installs can pay for themselves

Qualifying xeriscape conversions are eligible for Tucson Water’s conservation rebate programme. Combined with lower monthly water bills, many homeowners see a positive return on their landscape investment within two to three years. We identify rebate eligibility during your free consultation and help you navigate the paperwork.
